Quieres una plataforma como la de Threadripper? Pero no te gusta AMD?

Por la amigable cantidad de solo 4,000$ USD (mas la placa madre y la memoria). Podrás tener un XEON de 28 cores que podrás overclockear (mas 1,000 USD del cooler necesario y 500 USD para la fuente de poder de 1500Watts) a tu gusto y romper records que duraran en lo que llega la serie 3,000 de AMD.

Intel isn't accustomed to losing. That was apparent earlier this year as the company debuted its 28-core processor running at 5.0 GHz to take the shine off of AMD's Computex announcement of a 32-core Threadripper chip.

Sure, Intel's 28-core count isn't quite as impressive as Threadripper's, but the beastly 5.0 GHz frequency appeared to blow Threadripper out of the water. Except Intel's chip wasn't operating at stock settings: the company notoriously demoed the chip without disclosing that it was overclocked and cooled with the help of an industrial-grade water chiller. A few months later, Intel officially announced the processor and told us that it would arrive this December.

Now several European retailers have listed Intel's Xeon W-3175X for preorder. As with all early product listings, we have to view these with a bit of skepticism, especially because early pricing can be adjusted later. All the other specifications line up with the details Intel provided earlier this year. The timing of the listings also aligns with Intel's goal to bring the processors to market by the end of the year, even if in name only.

Ya pueden comprar el nuevo XEON de 28 cores..
Solo que tendrá un precio mucho mas bajo al esperado y frecuencia un poco mas baja.

Lo feo? todo el kit completo sigue costando mas de 7,000 USD (procesador ,memoria, tarjeta madre). Siendo un golpazo la tarjeta madre, que cuesta 1500 USD en promedio contra los 300 USD del 2990WX. (sin olvidar que la tarjeta madre es única para este procesador, los threadripper todos comparten la misma mobo)

lo bueno? es mas rápido que el AMD Threadripper 2990WX en muchos benchmarks.
